The Avenue

The Avenue is a residential road running south from the town centre area towards the A27 and Fareham Creek. It is one of the more established residential streets in central Fareham, with a mix of Victorian, Edwardian, and later properties. Some of the houses are substantial, reflecting the street's status as a desirable address in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Mature trees line parts of the road, giving it the character its name suggests. The southern end approaches the waterfront area near Fareham Creek, and properties here benefit from proximity to the water and the green spaces along the creek. The Avenue connects to several side roads with similar-era housing. It is within easy walking distance of the High Street and the railway station.
