Gosport Road heads south-east from the town centre towards Brockhurst and Gosport. The A32 follows this route and it is a busy commuter road, particularly at peak times. The Fareham end has a mix of commercial and residential properties, with car dealerships and trade premises along parts of the road. Further south, the road becomes more residential as it passes through the area towards Bridgemary. Bus routes to Gosport use the road. The junction with East Street in the town centre marks the transition from the commercial town centre to the route south. Gosport Road is functional rather than characterful, serving primarily as a transport corridor between the two towns.
