Hampshire's Market Town

Bridge Road

Street guide, Fareham

Bridge Road connects the town centre to the area south of Fareham Creek, crossing the watercourse near its head. The road provides access to the residential streets around Salterns Lane and the Cams area. The bridge itself is a modest structure over the narrow upper reach of the creek. From Bridge Road you can see the mudflats and saltmarsh that characterise the upper creek at low tide. The road has a mix of residential properties and a few commercial units. It is a useful connecting route between the town centre and the south-eastern suburbs, avoiding the busier A27. The creek crossing gives the road its name and its principal point of interest.
