Fareham Shopping Centre is the main covered retail destination in the town, accessed from the eastern side of the High Street. The centre opened in 1975 as part of the post-war redevelopment of the town centre and has been refurbished several times since. It houses a mix of national chain stores and smaller independent retailers, along with a food court area. A multi-storey car park provides direct access. The centre serves as the anchor for the town centre retail offer, complementing the outdoor High Street shops. Like many mid-sized shopping centres, it has faced challenges from online shopping and changing consumer habits, but it remains a functional and well-used facility.
